  1. What do you suggest to get Cornyn and Cruz and Carter meeting? In the past they blocked us from coming up and threatened arrest if 5 of us didnt leave the lobby. We are older courteous adults. We are anglo and subj was immigration. We asked for staff meeting outside ; they refused.

    1. Great question. The first thing we’d recommend is to make an appointment if you’ve had trouble with making a drop-in. Did you call ahead when you visited last time? When you call, make it clear you are a constituent, and ask to make an appointment with the staff member who handles your issue (for example, healthcare), but that you are willing to meet with whichever staff are available. Most members of Congress have offices in office buildings that are private property, and security is normal. So try making an appointment and report back! Also, keep in mind that protests or demonstrations would need to be on a public sidewalk to avoid concerns about trespassing.
